Olimpia earned her MD and PhD in Italy in
1987 and 1994, respectively. During her studies she spent
several periods of training in American academic institutions
as well as the NIH. In 1994 she received fellowships from
the Italian Health Institute (AIDS program) and the Italian
Association for Research in Neurology to pursue her research
interests abroad and she moved to Chicago to work with
Richard J. Miller, Ph.D., W.D. Mabie Professor of Neuroscience
at the University of Chicago. She has been in Philadelphia
since August 2000.
