Silvia Burbassi, PhD

Silvia joined the group in June 2006 shortly after graduating from the Mario Negri Institute in Milan, Italy (Pharmacology). She has been involved in the studies on opioid-induced alteration of chemokine receptor function; her goal is to determine whether morphine affects CXCR4 activity in the brain. She is using both in vitro and in vivo approaches to address this question.
