Dual 2-photon microscope

The laboratory develops new photochemical technology for cell physiology. Our approach is based on organic synthesis of photoreactive molecules which will release an active substrate in or on cells-we call this uncaging. We are particularly interested in using 2-photon excitation to produce focal bursts of signaling molecules, such as calcium and glutamate, in living cells.
