The Laboratory of Molecular Signalling at the Babraham Institute is engaged in research on pathways that regulate fundamental cell decisions such as fertilization, cell cycle progression, differentiation and cell death. Martin's lab is focused on trying to understand how calcium signals are generated and interpreted by cells. Recent studies have been concerned with the mechanisms by which calcium signals in cardiac cells are modulated by cardioactive hormones, such as endothelin. We have been awarded a Human Frontiers grant together.
